Papaya Puree For Split Ends & Brittle Hair

Papaya can effectively hydrate dry and lifeless hair, preventing split ends and rough ends. The fruit is rich in potassium and vitamins that can bring thickness back to thin hair and nourish them from the inside.

How To Apply:

  • Take 1-2 bowls of papaya depending on your hair length.
  • Mash them well and sieve to prevent any big particles from getting stuck in your hair.
  • Leave on for 30 minutes before washing with a mild shampoo and warm water.

Bananas are rich in silica, an element that helps synthesize collagen and improves hair texture significantly. With regular use, bananas make dry, brittle hair soft and more manageable. Honey, on the other hand, is a natural humectant and draws moisture from the environment to your hair. Hydrated hair is the key to prevent split ends and brittle hair so this papaya hair mask can help you with the same.

How To Apply:

  • Mash one bowl of papaya with a medium-sized banana and sieve the puree.
  • Add 1 tbsp honey into the mask.
  • Apply it all over your hair, focusing on the ends.
  • Wash off with lukewarm water and shampoo as usual.

Papaya + Castor Oil + Black Cumin For Thick Hair

Castor oil has a slew of hair benefits like nourishing dry scalp, preventing inflammation and promoting hair growth. It has a fatty acid called ricinoleic acid which is the star ingredient behind its magical benefits. Kalonji or black cumin used in the hair mask has Nigella Sativa, which has been proven to reduce hair fall by up to 76% and promote hair growth as well.

How To Apply:

  • Soak 1 tsp black cumin powder in 2 tbsp water overnight.
  • Mix 1 cup of tomato puree and 2 tbsp of castor oil into the cumin powder in the morning.
  • Apply all over your scalp and hair length.
  • Leave on for 30 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water.

  • Mash a bowl of papaya cubes along with 2 tbsp of curd in a blender.
  • Add 1 tbsp lemon to it and apply it all over your hair, concentrating on the scalp.
  • Leave on for 45 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water and a mild shampoo.

Papaya + Aloe Vera For Dry, Damaged Hair

Both papaya and aloe vera are great hydrating ingredients and can restore the dull hair cells to lively ones. Aloe-vera’s gel-like properties and unique nutrient blend soothes dry scalp, penetrates follicles and improves the condition of dry, damaged hair.

How To Apply:

  • Mash papaya in the blender, the amount varies on your hair length.
  • Take 4 full tablespoons of aloe vera gel, pour it into the blender and blend it well. For hair, we’d advise you to take aloe vera directly from the leaves.
  • Let the mask sit on your hair for 30 minutes and then wash off with lukewarm water.

Papaya + Neem + Coconut Oil For Flaky Scalp

Both papaya and coconut oil can effectively moisturize your scalp. A dry scalp is a direct precursor of a flaky scalp. Coconut oil also has antibacterial and antifungal properties which help fight any scalp infections. And neem possesses the same properties as well, and that’s why it is also deemed as one of the effective remedies for acne.

How To Apply:

  • Blend 1 to 2 bowls of papaya pieces in the blender.
  • If you have fresh neem leaves, first grind 10-15 leaves using pestle and mortar and then add to papaya puree. If you are using neem powder, add 1 tbsp directly.
  • Further, add 2 tbsp of coconut oil to the mask and mix well.
  • Apply it all over your scalp and hair length.
  • Let it sit for 45 minutes and wash off with mild shampoo and lukewarm water.

Papaya + Coconut Milk + Honey For Hair Conditioning

Papaya is rich in Vitamin A, and because of its distinctive nutrient blend, vitamin A penetrates well into the scalp. The nutrient balances sebum and produces more of it that nourishes, strengthens, and moisturises the scalp. Further, coconut milk in this papaya hair mask has extreme moisturizing effects which condition the hair well.

How To Apply:

  • Blend papaya well into the blender and add 2 tbsp of coconut milk and 1 tbsp of honey to it.
  • Apply the mask to your hair, massaging it well into your scalp and covering the hair strands well.
  • Leave on for 45 minutes before rinsing your tresses.

Papaya + Olive Oil + Castor Oil For Hair Thinning

According to studies, papayas can help with hair thinning and hair growth. The hydroxy salicylic acid in the fruit has the ability to promote hair growth, so does its moderate antioxidant activity which stimulates the scalp and boosts hair growth. Both olive oil and castor oil also revitalizes hair follicles and increases the life span of each hair.

How To Apply:

  • To a bowl of blended and sieved papaya puree, add 1 tbsp each of olive oil and castor oil.
  • Cover your scalp and tresses generously with the mask and leave it on for 45 minutes.
  • Wash using a mild shampoo. No need to condition as the papaya is already a good hydrating agent in itself, so are the oils.

Papaya + Eggs For Hair Thinning

While papayas’ ability to prevent hair thinning is highlighted above, eggs have their own solo properties that help with the problem. Egg yolk and whites are rich in Vitamin A, E, biotin, and folate that makes hair resistant to damage and helps with healthy hair growth.

How To Apply:

  • Add 1 full egg into the papaya puree. Whisk it well so the papaya and eggs fuse with each other thoroughly.
  • Apply well onto your hair, focusing more on the scalp.
  • Wash with cold water and shampoo. Don’t use hot or warm water or the eggs will cook and clump on your hair making it harder to wash.
